A more limited workweek is all about the future of worker efficiency and the balance between serious and fun activities. Is it that simple to improve work?

Four-day workweek, the advantages seemed to be several.

As the pandemic has brought about an exceptional change in the world of work, there has been significant conversation surrounding the long four-day workweek.

Promoted as a solution to burnout and work pressure, organizations and even legislatures have been exploring different ideas about this thinking; the booklet results recommend potential advantages that incorporate a better balance between serious and fun activities and more developed prosperity – at no cost to worker efficiency.

While a typical working day is cut from the schedule, responsibility for the most part continues as before.

Faced with a tighter schedule, workers often must adjust to new practices and longer hours.

This means that while the long four-day workweek can have many advantages, there can also be surprising results for some purposes.

Ford Motor

In 1926, the Ford Motor Company normalized the Monday-Friday design; before time, the normal practice was a six-day workweek, with only Sundays off.

In the 1950s, however, there were calls from labor unions to introduce a four-day week and people started anticipating, assuming we took another day off work would be much better. However, acceptance of the long four-day workweek has remained sluggish: in March 2020, during the onset of COVID-19 in the U.S., Gallup asked 10,364 full-time employees the number of days they typically work.
